Cecilia, with her beautiful green eyes, and Mike, with his shagadelic (aka awesome) hair, are two of my dearest friends out here that feel like home to me. They also moved from the Philly area to start their design careers at Hallmark right out of school, except they went to Kutztown’s art school rival (at least in KU student’s minds), Tyler, Art School of Temple University. None of us knew each other back east, including Cecilia and Mike, even though they have paralleled the same path with school choice, career choice and department placement. Crazy, right?! It’s like their stars were aligned way back when, only for them to meet out here and fall in love. So naturally, I was truly honored when they asked me to not only take their engagement pictures, but to photograph their wedding in Philadelphia in April 2012! Sooo excited to be part of their big day and to get an even closer glimpse of the union of these two with their friends and family. This was yet another fun, comfortable photo shoot, where I could ask these two to do just about anything and they were fair game. Cecilia even found these two books that were titled, “Mr. Mike” and “Cecilia” to include in the shoot. How perfect is that!? She also spotted the sign that says “co-op art,” (last image) which is equally awesome. You guys rocked this! So very happy for you both and can’t wait for April!
Andrew is so “John Mayor,” so GQ, and oh so modest, cool, calm and collected and yes, he’s a senior and will be graduating this spring. Kansas State here he comes! Not only can he play the guitar and look all-kinds-of-handsome in front of a camera lens, he’s also one heck of a cross country runner and student too. Yeah, that’s right…this guy right here? All around stud and I was the lucky one to get to photograph “this.” Take a look and I think you’ll agree. Andrew, don’t hate me for that last one…I kinda had too. I tried doing that maneuver in the mirror and couldn’t. That guitar strumming might be skill, but that eyebrow has skill all on its own.
Another perfect fall day this was for picture-taking and the fall leaves were just a compliment to this beautiful family. We started out in the backyard and then moved to the trails and we got some great snaps of Presley and all her precious little faces in her ridiculously adorable green jumper and pink ballet shoes. Melissa put together an outfit that co-ordinated so well with her little one too. The dog came along for the ride and no family is complete without some pictures with the family dog. Happy Birthday, Melissa! Thanks for the opportunity you guys!
Lindsay and Donavan couldn’t have had a more gorgeous day to get married in Kansas City. It was one of those days you wake up and think, this is a picture perfect day and being a photographer, I was pretty excited about all the pictures to come. I think you’ll be able to tell how picturesque this day really was, as you scroll through and see the love, happiness and excitement that was exuding from not only the handsome and beautiful mr. and mrs., but all their loved ones and dear friends. Not to mention the colorful, designerly details that were sprinkled throughout that made this wedding feel extra special. Is this not a classy, fun, good-looking group of people or what? Needless to say, I had a blast and felt like I was part of the group, longer than just a day. I am privileged to have had the opportunity and so happy for you both. Congratulations, Lindsay and Donavan!
Seriously?! Do you even see how damn cute these two are together? And not to mention beautiful and handsome? Yes, they are engaged and it’s easy to see they have fun together, look great together, feel comfortable with a big ol’ camera in their face and love each other so. Lee and Rhea met at Iowa State and continue to root for their team at Kelly’s bar in Westport, KC…mugs and all. I met Lee through Hallmark’s Kansas City Corporate Challenge team. He’s a stellar runner and keeps me on my toes. Check out our fun session! Congrats you two!
Megan and I go waaay back, like sucking on our thumbs and eating waaay too many hot dogs back! Megan, more so than me with the latter, but we aren’t even gonna go there. So now she’s got two of her own and wanted me to capture this moment with her fam so that maybe one day, they can look waay back to when they were cute and adorable and probably ate way too many hot dogs as well. So here’s what we got on my most recent trip to the east coast, on a beautiful fall day. I thought I would even document the many faces of worn-out Aubrey, as I tried to persuade her that she had a smile left in her towards the end of the session. What a stinker! Check these cutie pies out!
