This session came together because of a thoughtful husband who wanted to give the gift of photos of his children to his wife for Mother’s day. We gathered, grandparents too and headed to the Nelson for some fun family portraits on what was a distinctly hot and sweaty day in KC. These two silly, fun and adorable kiddos were troopers to get through the session with such toasty conditions and we captured some great moments of this family being themselves and playing together. By the end of the session, we all were on the ground, including myself, pretending to be superheros with various super powers that only a child could dream up. There is no doubt there is lots of love going around in this family and I hope these pictures will be cherished even more so, as this family prepares for their next adventure in a new place. Enjoy and best of luck on all the sweet memories and moments to come!
This was the first Vow Exchange wedding and what a gorgeous day it was for a short, simple and sweet ceremony between Matt & Elisha. This good-looking couple exchanged their vows in front of 20 of their closest friends and family members on the first Friday of June. Luckily the summer heat hadn’t kicked in quite yet, making it a very comfortable evening to open up the garage door for fresh air and sun. The beautiful fresh flower bouquet and boutonnieres were done by The Vintage Petal. Congratulations Matt and Elisha and to the owner, Kathryn, for orchestrating a successful first wedding at The Vow Exchange!
The Kim family is growing and unlike my previous session with two little girls, I got to photograph two handsome little boys! Austin, the oldest, was really excited to get his picture taken when I came to their home and he was anxious to show me his clock collection. He loves clocks and he even posed for me with a few of them. After taking some great portraits in their new home, we headed to the park around the corner for Austin to get some energy out on the playground, after being so good for the camera. We captured some fun and energetic shots. These parents love their kiddos and it was fun to capture their love and fun they have together.
It was back to the Kiefer’s home, now that Jocelyn has made her appearance and what a great job she did for her first official photoshoot! Presley was quite jazzed to be getting her picture taken as well and was a good helper for making her sister at ease in front of the camera. For not being the biggest fan of the whole photo-shoot process, Josh makes it look pretty painless and Melissa, pretty as always, doesn’t appear to have an ounce of baby weight left. Kirby, their German Sheppard even got in on the scene for some family shots in front of their home, which rounded out another great family session! Thanks for inviting me back with the latest addition to your beautiful family!
Lindsay and Donavan are my first client to document all their big and exciting steps as a couple; From their engagement, their wedding day, Lindsay’s baby bump and now as a beautiful family of three. I have enjoyed documenting every step of the way, as their love for each-other keeps growing and getting better every year, especially now that they a beautiful baby girl to love on. How ridiculously adorable is Annabel? When I arrived for the session, Annabel was sleeping so soundly in her nursery, that it was a perfect opportunity to take some up close shots of her hands, feet, ears and nose. It wasn’t for long that she started to stir and she was hamming it up and worked it for my camera. It was the perfect time to get some shots in their first home, for it would be one of the last weekends before they moved to a new home. We took advantage of the beautiful, sunny day and headed to the park where we managed to get some “frame-able” shots for their new home! Thanks you two, for inviting me to document your journey! I’ve enjoyed every step of the way and can’t wait to watch Annabel grow up to be a lovely little lady!
