This lovely family met up with me on a sunny fall afternoon and on a cooler spring evening when I’m posting this, the sunshiney glow on their hair and faces makes me ready for that warm sun to return any day now. How stinkin’ adorable are this brother and sister? I mean look at that love and adoration they have for each other. Just as any siblings go, I’m sure they have their moments of frustration, nagging, tattle-tales, and the occasional accidental injury incurred by the other (I may be reminiscing of my own childhood relationship with my own older brother), but it’s the little moments of sweetness I was able to catch between these two that warmed my heart and paint the picture of the great friends they will be and the protective brother Jack will be of his little sis. But what’s also apparent, is the love the entire family has for one another and that’s what makes this picture taking gig so much fun and fills me up. I hope that I capture that same feeling I get, for all the families and couples when they look at the images I capture of them.
It’s another round of this beautiful family at the start of a new chapter in their new home last fall. Annabel was at her 6 month mark during this shoot and she was so much fun to photograph with all of her expressions. One thing’s for sure and that is this couple’s love has grown immensely with this little lady in their lives. I can’t wait to see how she’s grown in another few months!
September 20th is the due date for this perfect baby bump, although the doctors wouldn’t be surprised if he or she decides to make their debut a little earlier than original plans. Yes, it will be a surprise, although Jared is routing for a fellow male companion, hence the presence of the blue shoes versus a more gender neutral option. The Whites are preparing for the arrival of their first baby, who also will be the first grandchild on both sides of the family. Needless to say, everyone is much anticipating the arrival of baby White to love on, stare at and of course what all grandparents inherently know how to do, spoil. With each passing day and the humidity continuing to fluctuate, it will be nice to get this show on the road so glowing-mom-to-be, Shannon, can comfortably wear her wedding ring and shoes again. Congrats on almost 9 months you three! Looking forward to meeting baby White!
I had the wonderful opportunity to photograph the family of one of my very first childhood friends while I was back home visiting with my family. The last time we saw each other, Taylor Rose was preparing to make her entrance into this world and I photographed the cute little baby bump that she was during a much more frigid time of the year, back in December 2011. How sweet is this cutie patootie in her pink dress with white bunnies and trees? We even managed to get a few shots with the family pup before we ventured too far from their home on these picture-perfect paths and fields. For all that hard work of smiling and being too stinkin’ cute, we finished the session off with swinging, which this little lady was pretty excited about. Such a blessed, beautiful family. Enjoy these sweet little moments!
This session came together because of a thoughtful husband who wanted to give the gift of photos of his children to his wife for Mother’s day. We gathered, grandparents too and headed to the Nelson for some fun family portraits on what was a distinctly hot and sweaty day in KC. These two silly, fun and adorable kiddos were troopers to get through the session with such toasty conditions and we captured some great moments of this family being themselves and playing together. By the end of the session, we all were on the ground, including myself, pretending to be superheros with various super powers that only a child could dream up. There is no doubt there is lots of love going around in this family and I hope these pictures will be cherished even more so, as this family prepares for their next adventure in a new place. Enjoy and best of luck on all the sweet memories and moments to come!
The Kim family is growing and unlike my previous session with two little girls, I got to photograph two handsome little boys! Austin, the oldest, was really excited to get his picture taken when I came to their home and he was anxious to show me his clock collection. He loves clocks and he even posed for me with a few of them. After taking some great portraits in their new home, we headed to the park around the corner for Austin to get some energy out on the playground, after being so good for the camera. We captured some fun and energetic shots. These parents love their kiddos and it was fun to capture their love and fun they have together.
